Memorandum on the Increasing Tendency of Fellows to Write Papers Explaining Why the Foundation Exists

The Foundation appears to have entered one of its periodic phases of self-description. Previous instances occurred in 1846, 1953, 1978 and briefly during the unfortunate Symposium on Method of 1996.

Experience suggests the condition resolves naturally after approximately eighteen months, usually following the discovery of an object sufficiently interesting to distract everyone.

The archivist recommends no intervention.
